The four methods we use
We'll recommend the right method for your art, fabric, and quantity.
Screen printing
Bold, durable prints - the most cost-effective option as quantity grows.
DTG printing
Photo-quality full-color detail with a soft hand feel, great for small runs.
DTF transfers
Vibrant full-color prints that work across cotton, blends, and polyester.
Embroidery
Premium stitched logos for a textured, professional finish.

Straight answers
What affects the price of custom t-shirts
No mystery math - these six things drive what you'll pay per shirt.
Quantity
The biggest lever. Per-shirt pricing drops as quantity grows - especially with screen printing, where setup costs spread across the run.
The shirt itself
A budget Gildan and a premium AS Colour can differ by several dollars before any ink hits fabric.
Colors & complexity
For screen printing, each ink color adds a screen. Full-color methods like DTG and DTF price by size and coverage instead.
Print locations
Front only costs less than front + back + sleeve. Each location is a separate decoration.
Artwork readiness
Print-ready art keeps things moving. If your file needs cleanup or a redraw, we'll let you know what's involved first.
Turnaround speed
Standard production is the best price. Guaranteed rush options cost more but are there when you need them.

FAQ
Common questions about custom t-shirts
Do you have minimums for custom t-shirts?
Most t-shirt styles ordered through Koala-Tees have no minimum - order one shirt or a thousand. Two exceptions: customer-supplied garments run as contract work with a 36-piece minimum for printing and 24 for embroidery, and a few specialty brands like AS Colour have supplier-side minimums we'll flag before your order moves forward.
How fast can I get custom t-shirts?
Qualifying orders placed online can select guaranteed rush turnarounds as fast as 3 business days during checkout. Need faster? Call us at (801) 566-1867 and we'll check what's possible, including same-day Super Rush availability on qualifying jobs. Full details on our turnaround times page.
Can I bring my own shirts for you to print?
Often, yes - that's contract printing, with a 36-piece minimum for printing and 24 for embroidery. We review the garments first, since customer-supplied shirts vary in quality and print compatibility, and we can't guarantee results or replace customer-provided items. Details on our wholesale & contract page.
Which printing method should I pick?
It depends on your quantity, artwork, and fabric. Rough rules: screen printing wins on cost and durability as quantity grows, DTG handles photo-real detail on cotton, DTF works across almost any fabric, and embroidery gives logos a stitched, professional finish. Our printing methods comparison covers all four honestly - or just ask and we'll recommend one.
Which t-shirt brand should I choose?
For budget orders we usually reach for Gildan; for a soft retail feel, Bella+Canvas or Next Level; for heavyweight streetwear, AS Colour. Our t-shirt brand comparison walks through the 17 shirts we print on most, with real photos from our floor.
