Color, Artwork, Mockup, and Production Disclaimer
Last Updated: June 27, 2026
At Koala-Tees Inc., we make reasonable efforts to display product colors, artwork colors, mockups, and print placement as accurately as possible. However, because custom apparel production involves digital previews, physical garments, ink systems, equipment, fabric variation, and human production processes, exact color, size, and placement matching cannot be guaranteed unless specifically agreed to in writing.
Please review this Policy before placing or approving an order.
1. Website and Screen Color Disclaimer
Colors shown on our website, online store, product mockups, digital proofs, email proofs, and customer screens are intended as a visual guide only.
The color you see may vary based on:
- Monitor or phone screen settings
- Brightness, contrast, and color calibration
- Device type
- Browser settings
- Lighting conditions
- Product photography
- Manufacturer images
- Garment dye lots
- Fabric type and material blend
Because of these variables, screen images should not be treated as an exact representation of the final garment color, ink color, thread color, or printed result.
2. Garment Color Variation
Garment colors may vary between brands, styles, fabric blends, sizes, manufacturing batches, and dye lots.
A color name such as “black,” “navy,” “charcoal,” “sand,” “natural,” “heather gray,” or “royal blue” may look different depending on the manufacturer, garment material, and lighting.
Koala-Tees Inc. is not responsible for normal manufacturer color variation, dye-lot variation, product photography differences, or differences between website images and physical garments.
3. Digital Printing Color Disclaimer
Some printing methods, including DTG printing, DTF printing, digital transfers, and certain full-color production methods, use a CMYK-based print process or a similar digital color system.
CMYK-based printing may not reproduce RGB screen colors, neon colors, metallic colors, extremely bright colors, deep saturated colors, transparent effects, gradients, shadows, or photographic colors exactly as they appear on a screen.
Digital prints may also vary based on:
- Garment color
- Fabric type
- Underbase requirements
- Artwork resolution
- File format
- Color profile
- Print method
- Pretreatment or transfer process
- Heat, pressure, curing, or finishing requirements
Because digital printing translates screen-based artwork into a physical print process, exact color matching is not guaranteed unless a specific written color-match agreement is made before production.
4. Screen Printing Color Disclaimer
Screen printing colors may be produced using Pantone/PMS references, standard ink colors, custom-mixed ink colors, specialty inks, or visually matched colors depending on the order.
If exact or close color matching is important, the customer must provide Pantone/PMS color references or request a written color-match service before production begins.
Even when Pantone/PMS or custom-mixed colors are used, final appearance may vary based on:
- Garment color
- Fabric texture
- Ink opacity
- Underbase use
- Number of print passes
- Curing
- Lighting
- Specialty ink properties
- Artwork details
- Production method
Specialty inks, including metallic, puff, high-density, reflective, glow, discharge, vintage, distressed, or other specialty effects, may naturally vary in appearance and texture.
5. Embroidery Thread Color Disclaimer
Embroidery thread colors are selected from available thread charts and may not perfectly match digital artwork, Pantone colors, garment colors, or screen colors.
Thread appearance may vary based on lighting, stitch direction, fabric texture, thread sheen, garment color, and design density.
6. Mockup and Proof Disclaimer
Online mockups, checkout previews, digital proofs, and emailed mockups are intended to show the general concept, approximate artwork size, approximate placement, general color direction, and overall layout of the order.
Mockups are not guaranteed to be a perfect representation of final production.
Final results may vary due to:
- Garment size differences
- Garment shape and seams
- Artwork aspect ratio
- Print area limitations
- Production method
- Fabric stretch or shrinkage
- Manual placement
- Screen, platen, hoop, transfer, or machine setup
- Artwork resolution or file quality
- Differences between flat mockups and actual worn garments
A design may appear larger or smaller on different garment sizes. For example, the same print size may look larger on a small shirt and smaller on a 3XL shirt.
Unless otherwise agreed in writing, Koala-Tees Inc. uses reasonable production judgment to size and place artwork based on the approved order, production method, garment type, and available print area.
7. Artwork File Quality
Final print quality depends heavily on the quality of the artwork provided.
Low-resolution, pixelated, blurry, compressed, flattened, poorly separated, low-contrast, or otherwise imperfect artwork may produce lower-quality results.
Koala-Tees Inc. may assist with artwork cleanup, file preparation, vectorization, or design improvements when available, but we are not responsible for limitations caused by poor-quality customer-provided artwork unless we specifically agree in writing to recreate or correct the artwork.
8. Approval Responsibility
Customers are responsible for reviewing all proofs, mockups, checkout previews, spelling, names, numbers, colors, sizes, garment selections, artwork placement, and order details before approval.
Approval of a proof, mockup, checkout preview, or written order confirmation means the customer authorizes Koala-Tees Inc. to produce the order based on the approved information.
Changes requested after approval may delay production, affect turnaround times, change pricing, or be unavailable if production has already started.
9. Exact Color Matching
Exact color matching is not included unless specifically agreed to in writing before production.
If exact or close color matching is required, the customer must notify Koala-Tees Inc. before approving the order. Additional services may be required, such as Pantone/PMS matching, physical samples, press checks, test prints, revised proofs, specialty inks, or additional production setup.
These services may require additional charges and additional turnaround time.
10. Normal Production Variation
Custom apparel production may involve reasonable variation from item to item or order to order.
Normal variation may include slight differences in:
- Print placement
- Print size
- Ink color
- Ink opacity
- Thread color
- Garment color
- Garment sizing
- Hand feel
- Texture
- Distressing
- Specialty ink effects
- Print finish
- Alignment on seams, pockets, zippers, or uneven surfaces
These normal production variations do not automatically qualify an order for refund, remake, or discount.
11. Material Production Errors
This Policy does not remove Koala-Tees Inc.’s responsibility for material production errors within our reasonable control.
If Koala-Tees Inc. produces an order that materially differs from the approved proof, confirmed order details, or agreed production specifications due to our error, we will review the issue under our Refund, Cancellation, and Return Policy.
Depending on the circumstances, an appropriate remedy may include repair, replacement, reprint, partial refund, full refund, store credit, or another reasonable solution.
12. Customer Acknowledgment
By placing an order, approving a proof, approving a checkout preview, or authorizing production, the customer acknowledges that:
- Digital previews and mockups are approximate
- Screen colors may not match physical products
- CMYK-based digital printing may not perfectly match RGB screen colors
- Screen printing, embroidery, and specialty inks may have natural variation
- Garment colors and dye lots may vary
- Artwork size and placement may vary between garment sizes and production methods
- Exact color matching is not guaranteed unless agreed to in writing before production
If color, placement, sizing, or exact reproduction is critical, please contact Koala-Tees Inc. before approving your order.
