How we decorate
The four methods we use
We'll recommend the right method for your art, fabric, and quantity.
Embroidery
The classic polo finish - premium stitched logos that look sharp and last.
Screen printing
Bold printed logos and text, most cost-effective as quantity grows.
DTF transfers
Full-color transfers that work across performance fabrics and blends.
DTG printing
Photo-quality detail with a soft hand feel for small runs.

Logo placement & fabric, in plain English
You approve a mockup with the exact size and placement before we stitch or print anything - here's what most orders choose.
Left chest
The classic spot - most logos land around 3 to 4 inches wide. If you only decorate one location, it's this one.
Right chest
A second logo, program name, or employee name opposite the main mark.
Sleeve
A small logo or flag on the arm - a favorite add-on for uniforms.
Back yoke
Below the collar, above the shoulder blades - great for a wordmark or website.
Fabric
Cotton piqué
The classic polo texture - breathable and structured, and it takes a stitched logo beautifully. All-cotton can shrink if it's hot-dried, so wash cool.
Fabric
Performance polyester
Wicks sweat and holds its color; snag-proof styles shrug off jobsite wear. Embroidery and DTF are the go-to decorations on these fabrics.
Fabric
Blends
The middle ground - softer than straight poly, less shrink-prone than all-cotton, and happy with any decoration method.
FAQ
Common questions about custom polos
Do custom polos have minimum order quantities?
Most polo styles ordered through Koala-Tees have no minimum - order one or outfit the whole company. Customer-supplied garments run as contract embroidery with a 24-piece minimum, and we review those garments before committing.
Is embroidery or printing better for polos?
For a logo on the chest, embroidery is the classic answer - stitched, textured, and durable through endless washes. Printing earns its place too: DTF handles multi-color detailed art on performance fabrics, and screen printing wins on larger runs of bold graphics. Our methods comparison covers all four honestly.
What does polo embroidery cost?
Pricing is driven mainly by stitch count (how much thread your design needs), quantity, and the number of decoration locations - plus one-time digitizing if your logo hasn't been converted to a stitch file yet. Request a quote with your artwork and quantity for a real number.
Where can you put my logo on a polo?
Left chest is the classic spot; right chest, sleeves, and the back yoke are all fair game too. You approve a mockup showing the exact size and placement before we stitch or print anything.
How fast can I get custom polos?
Standard turnaround is 9-11 business days for local pickup and 9-14 shipped, with qualifying rush options available - see our turnaround times and confirm your deadline before ordering.
