What we do in-house
- Screen printing
- Run on our own presses in Sandy. Best value once quantities climb, and the only way we can hit specialty inks like fluorescents, metallics, and puff. Screen printing · what drives the price
- Embroidery
- Stitched in-house on our own machines. Added in the 1990s, years after the company started - we have been printing since 1983, but we have not been embroidering that long. Embroidery
- Digital printing (DTG and DTF)
- Also in-house. This is how one-off and small orders make sense, and how full-color artwork gets printed without screens. DTF & DTG · what it costs
- Promotional products
- Branded items beyond apparel for events, giveaways, and company stores - along with paper products, boxes, and packaging materials. Some of this we decorate ourselves; the rest we handle through trusted manufacturer partners and manage for you start to finish. Promotional products
- Work we send to manufacturer partners
- Some jobs are built rather than decorated - cut-and-sew garments, all-over prints, all-over dye-sublimation, and full custom builds. Those go to trusted manufacturer partners rather than onto our own presses, and they carry a larger minimum quantity than a standard order.
Worth knowing where the line actually falls: we can print large here without sending anything out - a big front or back graphic is ordinary work on our own presses. It is true edge-to-edge, seam-to-seam coverage that turns a shirt into a build. Either way we handle the artwork, the quoting, and the project. Tell us what you have in mind - Contract decoration
- We decorate customer-supplied garments in some cases, after reviewing them. Wholesale & contract
Ordering, minimums & policies
- Minimums
- In many cases there is no minimum when the apparel is purchased through Koala-Tees, with the exception of certain specialty items and select garment styles. As a rule of thumb, jobs usually move to screen printing around a dozen pieces and up - but that is not a hard line. It depends on how many colors the design has and how complex the artwork is, and we do screen print smaller runs when the schedule allows. Below that, digital printing is often the better value, and we will tell you so. Full FAQ
- Customer-supplied garments
- Accepted in many cases as contract work, subject to review of the garment, fabric, brand, and method. Contract screen printing generally requires 36 pieces and contract embroidery 24. We do not guarantee results on customer-supplied garments and cannot replace or reimburse them. Contract terms
- Proofs
- You approve a proof before anything goes into production. How ordering works
- Pricing
- We do not publish a flat rate card, because the real number depends on quantity, colors, garment, locations, artwork, and deadline. The fastest way to a number is the instant quoter - it runs on the same pricing grids we use at the counter and automatically quotes whichever method prices better for your job. Both cost guides explain the math behind it: screen printing and digital printing. For anything unusual, send us the details or get in touch and a person will price it.
